DEVILHUNT HELP!! for fire warrior did you use cd loader in conjunction with swap magic. I got a 1:1 copy done and it just gives me a pink outline at the swap magic insert disc screen. I don't have cd loader by the way.

no firewarrior pal version don't require cd loader to boot i just made a 1:1 backup with record now max and it boots in my v7 with smd2/flip no problem also red/pink border with swapmagic generaly means a bad burn

I find that Recordnow DX works the best for copying any DVD games it has a min rip and you can burn at 1x speed I have not had any problems with this burning program._X_X_X_X_X_[small]US PS2 v.7 SCPH 39001

i just got dvdrs finally the first game i burnd:

i got fliptop and SMD v2
ps2 v7 39001

soul calibur 2.

dvdrw nd 1300a burner.
nero 6.0.0.11 to burn image
TDK dvdr+ media
burned at 2.4x

used cdloader beta 3 on TDK cdrs

so far no coasters 1/1

 

just burned disgaea: hour of darkness image with same media/settings it works nice

 

burned dot hack 3 outbreak same media/settings

3/3

 

just did a 1:1 direct copy of madden 2k4
tdk dvdr+ media
nec nd 1300a dvdrw
samsung sd 616t dvdrom

used nero 6.0.0.11 to burn @ 2.4x it said to switch dvd drives off same ide cable to prevent errors and speed things up so i did and it worked fine_X_X_X_X_X_[small]AMD 2600 barton

Great to hear so far all your back up copies are good, now would be a good time to start a list of games that work and don't work with a fliptop w/smd only we would all appreciate it. Thanks,

 

Don't know if anyone can help or point me in the right direction.
I've got a fliptop and SMD v2 with my PS2 v7.
I've tried to get a working DVD backup copy of Dynasty Warriors 4.
The disc always loads fine but it will freeze after completing a mission.
I've also noticed that at the start menu and during gameplay the background music does not play (On the original disc you hear the music).
I've copied the disk using Nero 6 and Discjuggler burning a 1X speed and from Image files but get the same result each time.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

I personally use RecordNow DX for DVD game Backups, I used RecordNowMax also and have had no problems with coping Dynast Warriors 4 or any problems with the sound or any game freezing. I use personally only use Nero for burning CD game backups.

Maybe you could try to use these burning programs to back up this game?

I'm using Bulkpaq DVD-R (Orange) 4* speed.
I've use an Optowrite DVDRW± writer.
I've done Backups of lots of other DVD games using these disks and writer without any issues. Dynasty Warrior 4 is the only one I've had problems with so far (It may be the original is at fault, but I can't see any obvious bad marks or scratches) . I'm going to do as ROTzWORLD suggests and get a copy of RecordNow Max to see if that works any better. Will report back if that resolves the problem

 

Non-working Game update.

As, most people on this tread tend to forget it's a list of games that DON'T work.

True Crime : Streets of LA on a V7 PS2 verifies the disc after the Activision logo, then sends you to the "Please insert a valid format yadda yadda yadda". The CD Loader gets you to that same verification point, then you get a bright green screen and a freeze/hang on your system.

Any word on a new CD loader? Or a FREAKIN' CD Loader V3?

tony hawk underground does not seem to work on my system. v4 smd v2. return to baghdad it freezing too. The dvds are ridata. first time using them. who knows. maybe the new smd v3 they will work.

T.H.U.G. worked fine for me, (PS2 V7, Swap Magic 2.0, and Memorex 4.7 DVD+R) actually, I'm really really impressed that all the music works so well considering how many tunes are in the game. Some other games I've done have issues if they have lots of music tracks. (splashdown 2 and ATV offroad Fury) I guess it has to do with the compression method that the developers use for the music...

SSX 3 also works perfectly with the specs I listed above....

Wow, T.H.U.G. and SSX3...both online gameplay...I'm totally never leaving the house again.
