every 1:1 backup works with fliptop and SMD...it's those dvdrips that don't work...
in your case the original or direct dvd backup of Naruto should work fine (if it's a double disk checker, just run cd loader before playing and ure on ure way)

i got my fliptop and smd just for Initial D: Special Stage and it works great...of course i'm using the original (i did download the dvdrip to play for a while before i got the original in the mail...i had to ghetto the dvdrip in order for it to work)


you need scart or pal/ntsc converter if you own a PAL ps2 and trying to play an NTSC J-U/C game or vice versa...if you own an NTSC U/C ps2 then imports from japan all work peachy since it is the same video mode

it doesn't matter if you get a v7 CDLoader and use it on a lesser version ps2...i just got CDLoaderv7b5 and i have a v4 ps2, cdloader boots up like the old one i have as "CDLoader V.1.00" but it automatically works ntsc/pal conversions for playing PAL games...

so if anyone has problems with a pal game, you don't need to wait for a patch if you are willing to swap an extra time cuz cdloaderv7b5 will take care of it

I still cant get any of the cd loaders to work.Maybe im just an idiot ,idunno.I am extracting the image with winrar and burning to cd in nero 6 ,cdrwin ,and i try alcohol 120 and it says its a bad image file.Am i supposed to burn it to dvd and boot it with a swap magic 2 cd?I still havent found any proper i nstructions on this cd loader deal,or i have but im an idiot ,thx.

 

there is a readme file with the burning instructions included in the download also so i'm told the beta versions work with earlier ps2's (v1-6)so try downloading this version from here http://www.geocities.com/jayteemaster2003/ as i know this one works as i'm using it my self.full booting instructions are included in the download or are avalible under cd loader (guide here http://www.tidusx.cjb.net/ (visual representation) and you burn it to a cd (abizzness have sent you a personal message that you may find useful)

I have a PS2 V7 with a No solder Modchip with SMD CD/DVD V2. Can someone please tell me why when I try to load my PS2 True Crime game with the version of CD loader that I have (CDLoader BETA5.1) why it gives me a red screen then yellow screen and freezes on the yellow screen without loading the game?

And besides that game, will this version of Cdloader I have (CDLoader BETA5.1) work with Freedom Fighters or will I have to download and burn the CDLoader BETA5 version and burn it to another CD to get Freedom Fighters to load?

 

I have V7 ps2, fliptop, swap disc.
true crime is not working for me.
I tried the cdloader beta 5.1 with 5v3.
all i get is the activision and the karate-guy
then it freezes
maybe someone knows how to fix it?

true crime doesn't work with v7 ps2s

 

True Crime DOES work with v7 ps2's been playing it tonight, when cd loader boots, press 'x' to access sub-menu, scroll down to 2nd option- No-PN, then swap for dvd smd. Sorry if you've got this far & it's not working, could be a bad burn on the back-up

does anyone have any idea if true crime works with different burn programs? i use NTI which has always been a great program for me for ps2 backups, but after 2 unsuccesful copies im about to give alcohol or nero a try...or should i stop trying for now? i have ps2 v7 smd flip top, nero, alcohol, nti

im gonna burn with nero and alcohol right now and see if it works..at least if it doesnt i will have 4 bad dvd-r to use as coasters.

 

alright i did it. first i made a 3rd copy this time with alcohol software trial version. while it was copying i tried again with nti software copies i already had and both worked. so now i got 3 copies all of a sudden, anyways finally understanding it, i thought it would be nice to write it down maybe someone can use it. here goes. true crime v7 ps2
01. swap magic disc cd
02. flip on screen
03. cd loader 5.1 press X
04. cd loader screen press X
05. cd loader multiple loader screen
06. go down to 5v3 no pin press X
07. you are back at the cd loader screen
08. press EJECT put in swap magic disc dvd
09. close tray
10. the cd loader screen will be changed for
dvd loader screen
11. press X
12. dvdr by ea method screen screen
13. flip, put in game copy, press X,
14. in order you will see activision screen, luxoflex karate kick screen, long pink screen, very fast yellow followed by black screen, then true crime welcome screen!!!

 

nice work...everything i had read and heard about said it didn't work with v7 ps2s...i knew it had a work around with cdloader but it was still vague

sorry for not posting more, my friend had been calling me nonstop asking how to fix it and i just told him to get a different ps2 (he exchange his v7 with someone's v5 and it was a lot easier)

imo, ure better off just trading ure ps2 with someone who doesn't care about modding and it is lower than v7 so u don't have to worry about so many swaps and struggles to get 1 game working
