The wave ban has brought a wave of hypocrits who have stole, pirated, and yet they want justice!

I am not here to create a thread to stir any hate, or any act that condones any type of name calling. As a pirate I can tell you that I have a concience deep within me, and I personally know that what I am doing is wrong and that I am cheating away every company that I download games from. There are arguements that I have made to myself that have been proven to be shady such as the games are expensive as hell arguement, and that Microsoft is a greedy company etc.

We have gone as low as to pirate then make claims to sue the companies that we have stole from, and we have gone as low as to insult the companies for banning us. Yet we have the ability to still download pirated games offline. Seems like that isn't enough for some of us right?

I agree with you totally. Some people have entitlement issues. They want to be able to download games with no consequences at all, and when they do get hit with the consequences, they blame MS (I've even seen some people blaming c4eva) when the only person that's to blame is themselves. The few whiners gets on my nerves, but thankfully most people can take responsibility for their actions.

The less ironic part is that most of these people have downloaded up to 3000-4000 worth of pirated games.

I agree entirely with this, I too have been part of this ban wave, and I have my own reasons for modifying my system, however I was fully prepared for this and I knew I'd get banned eventually. I have no remorse anger or spite towards anyone, in fact I made sure that when I did mod my system I had a backup 360 for when this happened, tho I didn't expect it to be so soon but it's completely understandable.

Its all really stupid. As I said before when my house got robbed a few months ago I put up alarms to prevent it from happening again. This is the same thing M$ did and it is their right to do so. There's no reason to get angry with them preventing people from playing stolen games on their online service. I don't want to pay $60 for new games so I took the risk and paid the price. There's no excuse or argument I can make other than its stealing. But it was my choice to do so and their right to ban my console.

The thing that did anger me was the people that were calling that guys house and threatening his family. That nonsense is uncalled for. The man was doing his job and shouldn't have to deal with that kind of crap in his personal life. That is the problem with the hacking/piracy scene. Once penalties are handed out they people that are guilty act like victims.

This is why I like Afterdawn more than any other forum. Informative, helpful, and for the most part, mature.

We should humble down, admit our mistakes so we can move on. We are alive and we are lucky that we have not been arrested for piracy. There will be a day that people will be arrested for downloading games. Not anytime soon but I am sure that will be a law.

ya its pretty funny at all the idiots that now say they "will go out and buy a ps3" just to spite microsoft. It does not make any sense because the ps3 is a mod proof console at the moment and they will still have to pay for every game.

Than they say "who cares now they wont get my money for the new console". and i say "yah they also wont have to worry about the 1000's of dollars they are losing to all of your pirated games either."

They are lucky that all they are losing is the ability to play on live with that console. Microsoft hasn't even banned accounts just consoles over this and people still cry.

In my opinion i think they are bieng very kind to just leave it at a console ban. hell everyone here has saved more money than what a new console is worth.

And i am speaking from someone who has been banned.

To All the criers out there Shut Up!! And Man Up !!!

Could not agree more.. When you mod the console you are fully aware of what may happen an it's true microsoft does warn you of what may happen if you mod there system... Seems people forget this is there system your using so modding it is messing with there system... Just some people are idiots an expect a company to sit there an always allow people to steal... It's be like me going to your house every time you bought a new thing an just taking it every week eventually your gunna stop me by any means an you have the right to stop me from taking it..... Anyways to the coMplainers out there man up.... You knew this would happen!

honestly, i totally agree with you.

people should not be able to play back-ups on live.

in fact, being banned isn't even that bad. it won't stop people from playing backups.

but now that i am one of the banned ... SAD FACE. MANNN. SUPER HUGE SAD FACE PLASTERED ALL OVER THIS FACE HERE.

i would like to blame society, M$, the video game industry, my family, my friends, and in fact, everybody else on the planet. everyone except me. BLAH.

amen to this though. everything except for the "i'm sure it will be a law."

    erm...no?

i agree with everyone in this thread. those thickheaded people only see it one way, and never looks at the other side. if you don't like microsoft, then don't buy anything they make at all.

if you created a product, you would want to do anything and everything to protect it. that's what microsoft is doing. you would definately hate being ripped off.

now, i don't play on LIVE, nor is my console flashed. there is no performance benefitting from a flashed console. that's my reason for modding anything; performance gains mainly, but customization/individuality second. i could flash it and download the games and install to the hard drive, but i support the creators. if there's a PAL game that's never going to be in the U.S., so be it; you win some, you lose some.

yep. people are big crybabies who dont see the big picture. so what if you get banned? its your own fault. take it like a man. all the money people save by not buying games can be put towards the purchase of a new 360. i went out and bought an arcade, and a copy of MW2, why you ask? because i probably owe it to microsoft to pay for something. running out and buying a ps3 to spite MS is useless unless you really want it that bad. i own a ps3, i bought it because at the time it was the cheapest blu-ray player on the market, and it played games, so it was a win/win, but im not gunna just quit on my xbox just because MS got smart. i say good on them for finally catching us, and then one the new fw comes out, it'll be a game of tag all over again.

At least there are some that are willing to buy a second console.

M$ won't admit it but the only reason they have sold so many Consoles is because you can play pirated games on it... They opened the door for the PS3 if you ask me with this round of bannings...... So I don't have a problem with them banning folks but was it a good business decision?? That remains to be seen...

You want to see some funny entitlement rants, check the comments on torrents. Angry, half-literate little pukes bitching because it's taking too long to steal something.
"zomg seed azzolez! itz guna take 3 dayz to get my free shit!"

*sigh* This grumpy, aging pirate misses the old days. Honor among thieves is dead.

Well, that's why I bought it. And why I bought a Wii. And that's the only reason I've not yet bought a PS3- once it has been cracked, I'll get that too.

Nobody's hands are clean. Thanks to the DMCA you're still having to break at least two real nasty bits of Federal law, even if all of your images were ripped straight from the disks you own. (Even if you could weasel around the limitations set by the DMCA for the backups- which trumps Fair Use- you're still having to do a major no-no flashing the system to get any of those backups to run.)

Amen. Though I think that day may be sooner than you think.

Could you imagine the damage if MS went all RIAA on folks and sent out a million "Send us $3000 to drop this case or we'll jail 'ya" letters instead of just banning the consoles?

It's almost Thanksgiving. While I'm eating my turkey I'm going to look at my stack of DVD-DLs and be thankful I'm not sharing a small concrete cell with one of you. ;)

Completely agree with this thread so far. I've been involved in the piracy "scene" for over 10 years and the false sense of entitlement people have for pirated content is unbelieveable.

Maybe I'm wrong and I'm willing to accept it, but piracy creates jobs for people who code. If it wasn't for us, there would be a lot less people working to shut us down and an extremely profitable company (M$) would be even more profitable. The people who really lose are the small companies that produce crappy games. If a small company creates a great game, with the right PR campaign, that game will be big regardless of piracy.

Again, maybe I'm off...but that's something I've always held to.

I don't think it gives people jobs as I don't think people get paid for it. I don't know where they would get revenue since it is piracy which the whole point is to not pay for anything.
