Hi, im trying to fix my friends box, i have flashed it with 4.54 and the new logo file and it starts scanning ok, but when it gets to 98% it just crashes, and i have to start the installation process all over again. It behaves really dodgy as well when connected to the pc, sometimes it just displays "0".

    any ideas?

if you're in uk use 4.51 or in ireland 4.50 as people say.

hey, the box is just slow and unresponsive with 4.51. It sometimes displays 0 on the display, which i have researched and apparently its a hardware fault and a capacitor needs to be replaced, so i have ordered one off ebay to see if it will do the trick!

Hope you got 16V instead of 10V.

You need to desolder from the underside of the board.

I did, its not my first time soldering :p...i guess my iron may be crap or just not working to its potential. The tip was real hot(managed to burn myself ouch) but the god damn solder on the underside of the board just wouldnt melt..

For problems with desoldering use either a desoldering wick, desoldering pump or an actual desoldering iron. If you dont use the right tip you may damage tracks or the actual PCB.
