I bought two boxes and recieved them today. I updated them both to the latest firmware and proceeded to channel scan (one at a time).

The first box is setup perfectly, but the second box crashed after the channel scan so i restarted it from the rocket switch on the back. When it powered up it puts me on a channel that gives the "scrambled" message and the box doesnt accept any input whatsoever (remote, standby button etc) ... as though it has crashed, so i can't access any menus to enable the EMM.

I've tried reflashing but same problem.. ive also tried backing up the channeldata and downloading a default_channel data dump from when i first flashed the firmware. When i try it with the default_channeldata i jus get stuck at the language selection menu but still the box doesnt accept any input whatsoever so i cant get in the menu's etc.

    So my personal conclusion is:
    1) the box is faulty
    2) the crash has corrupted the settings or something

So my question is, what am i best doing about this?, is there a way to reset the box settings back to factory default externally? (software flash or hardware jumper or something) im confused.

    I'd appreciate any constructive input.
    Many Thanks.

I updated them to 8.00e from factory default.

I also noticed something with the box im having problems with. The LED display seems quite dull compared to the other box, im not sure if its a coincidence or just a random thing.

    Could be a faulty b0x.
If you just bought the b0x, contact the seller & look for a refund or another b0x.
Try the remote on the working b0x & vice versa & see if they work.

    Hi, this is crowman57's son.

I managed to find out what was wrong with it. The side of the box had a minor dint somehow maybe through the delivery process and noticed when i held the box sideways it would work correctly and the LED display was bright, but when i laid the box flat the LED would be dull and the box wouldnt respond to input.

I opened the box and noticed a cable was loose on the board so i pushed it in firmly and the problem is solved now.

But i now have another problem (i think?), i got a minor electrical shock when touching the exterior-sidepanel near the power supply area of the board.

I checked the area of the box for voltages using a screwdriver that lightsup when power runs through it..and it was lighting up in this particular area of the sidepanel near the powersupply. Im not sure if its shorting somehow or maybe its interferance from one of the components.. but im no electrician so id be greatful for any advice.

Note: I was using a shaver adaptor (2pin->3pin converter 1A-250V) to plug it into the mains just to test it, im not sure if this affects anything.

    Many Thanks.

I think the safest thing and wisest would be to return the box to your suplier telling him what you have just explained, and look for a replacement!!
