    Hi,
I'm new here and the backing up/burning on dvd is killing me! Arrghh!
I bought BENQ Joybook R53 a year ago and it has MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-840S.
I have followed all the instructions from this website and webpages.charter.net. using DVDFabDecrypter, FixVTS, DVDShrink and Nero burning (as well as Imageburn when I couldn't get Nero to work)
PROBLEM: Verbatim (Advanced AZO) DVD+R blank disc 16x I bought. Tried to burn my orginal dvd Green Street Hooligan (under 4.2GB in DVD shrink before pressing 'back up').
Everything goes fine until when it comes to burning on dvd.
Nero says "There is not enough space to burn this compliation to this disc"

The same problem happened to ImageBurn when I couldn't burn on Nero ... ImageBurn said something like 'Target not specified'

Hope some kind earthling out there can help me step by step to identify the problem I'm having? :)

    Thanks Gwendolin :)

I will update versions of what you said.

Should I be booktyping my blank DVD+R disc to DVD-R to make it work? Just that two weeks ago I burned Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory ... it worked on a DVD-R that someone gave me but didn't work on a DVD+R disc (friend gave me one of each disc - limiations I think) ....

So could it be booktyping that I need to correct?

You can booktype a DVD+R to emulate a DVD-ROM, not DVD-R. Booktyping is the way to go if your drive supports that action.

    Thanks bilbo65.

How do I booktype DVD+R to DVD-R that I have on my DVD+R discs? I'm new at this and never really heard of booktyping until someone mentioned it last week.

If it works on DVD-R disc last week and not on DVD+R - would that mean it will work only on DVD-R discs? and NOT DVD+R

    Thanks
