[bold]Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.[/bold] Is what my Windows says after playing a CD I tried converting a DVD to VCD with nero DVD to VCD program and thats what it says when Its time to play it. is there another way i can convert DVD to CD with a FREE download like the DVDDcryter.
Hi there! First, why do you want to convert the DVD to VCD? Second, try downloading the following codec pack and see if it works for you. http://www.free-codecs.com/download_soft.php?d=294&s=95 And no, you cannot convert DVD to VCD with Decrypter. Another codec pack that i have and I have no problems with anyvideo formats is FFDSHOW : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=53761&package_id=48261&release_id=95213
well nosey {justplayin} My wife injoys watching movies on here computer during her lunch hour. ever sence i put Red Eye on a cd she has been wanting more movies to watch. I guess being that its a regular cd player add some excitement to watching one. thats the reason. and her excitement gives me excitment when she gets home thanks for the help by the way.
So the codecs worked for you? LOL, I was asking because most people try to convert from CD to DVD...I don't know, I guess I was just asking(being nosey):~) Glad it works for you.
well I didnt try the one you gave me yet. I went back to my old thing. I used Magic DVD ripper to convert to vcd then used Nero Express to add to cd. I't uses two cd's though. I want to compress to 1 cd but just cant manage it. Even if i use DVDShrink I't wont compress to 1 cd. Its ok though. Im looking for a free pogram that would rip convert and burn to cd. I see some that give me a 5 minute trial, but thats a waste of time to me. I want a full trail.
So you want a program that would have all in one-rip, convert/shrink and burn? I don't know if there is something like that. Now, you want to put a DVD-9 to a single VCD? I am sure that could do that if you compress it several times, but the quality would be more than just miserable. Since you try to watch them on a computer, you can convert them to AVI format. This way you can bring one movie to about 700MB.
