Hello all.I hope I am using the correct forum,I apologise if I am not.
I have been thinking about buying a Euro Vox Max 2008 but after reading through several messages it appears that a lot of people seem to be having problems with them.Is this because they are difficult to set up or they are just not reliable? Is it necessary to have a pc or could I just set it up and use it on my tv? (I do have a computer and I use Vilgim Metra for my cable but as I am a 63 year old man I'm not as techno savvii as most people. Also what are the odds of buying one and then for it to be useless in a few months if the encryptions are changed.
I really can't afford to pay £100 on one and then find out I can't use it.
    Thankyou for any help

yes your in the right place, like all boxes and gadgets there will always be some problems, but most can be fixed and i think any cliches in the eurovox max black are sorted now,if you buy 1 make sure you get 1 with the latest firmware on it (ask the seller)the eurovox updates itself when the codes change but who no's what will happen in the near futher but as they say where there's a will there's a way,and i''m sure there will be some1 out there with a fix.
oh and i meant to say there fairly easy to set up,and any problems come back and ask as there is always someone here to help.

Thanks for that karljd. If I bought one would I be able to carry on using my cable box as I like to use the "on demand"facility. Also I have noticed the connection between the cable and the cable box appears to have a screw-in fixing and not a push in.Can this be safely removed and if a splitter were to be used how would I go on

I also have a Sony dvd/hd recorder so would love to know how to set it up with the Eurovox,eg does the cable entering the house connect to the cable box first or the Eurovox.I'm sorry if I'm a pain in the aris but I guess I'm a bit thick

Ypu will need 3 scart leads, the coax goes into the eurovox as per normal,1 scart from tv to eurovox ,1 from tv to dvd and 1 from eurovox to dvd.

The f type adapter is for connecting both boxes to the splitter the cable box connection can be unscrewed and then screwed back into the f adapter which is then plugged into the splitter

ok this is it as far as i no,the main feed for your cable box goes into the splitter, then use the f type connector to connect your cable box to the splitter and visa versa for the eurovox
