My dads computer is a few years old, (P3 1Ghz with 640 RAM) and I am considering putting Win xp (home or prof) on it. My question is, will there be an increase in performance? This machine is quite well maintained, and hasnt needed a OS reinstall at any point in the past, but thought a re install now, may be needed to get the best out of it. I have heard from many people that WIn ME is a dog of an operating system, so thought installing XP might be a good move. I would be interested in your feedback on this, thanks.
