..and may be in the wrong place as well.I got a pioneer 107 8x burner. Can I, and how do I, booktype it?
here's the best i can find - http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=102142 And it looks like a no for all pioneer drives according to that, but i've only read a bit of it
you are a NO GO on the booktyping for Pioneers..i own the dvr-109, and to this day, still CAN NOT booktype using that particular drive, but, i DO have to say it's VERY fast and a solid burner~
well, i stand behind my trusty pioneer 109 since it still performs like the best of them out there...i just haven't managed to find a way to booktype it YET, perhaps some newer modified firmware in the future will do the trick? i dunno~ if someone DOES find a way to do it, i would appreciate the knowledge as i WILL do it on mine~ good day to you creaky, i have the biggest headache now from my most recent "thought out" post...please see if you agree with what i said here... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/199563 thanks~
i did manager to stumble across that one earlier, nicely put, just didn't know if it warranted anything else , looks pretty impressive. I even followed all the links within links to refresh my memory, loadsa good taiwan stuff in there, even the bit where i describled growing up when most ppl took the p*ss out of anything 'made in taiwan'. am finishin work now so will at least be able to concentrate on some posts in an hour or so when i get home
Many thanks guys for your help. I have no fights with the pioneer good burners but I cant win them all I guess.
I should have been scouting sooner. I could have told you right away pioneers are not booktype/bitsetting capable. #1 reason I am not a pioneer fan. I hear they do perform well with dvd-r's since their from the same camp. Mort
a-ha - i thought i remembered you mentioning pioneer and bitsetting before. Sorry i had used google instead as it's usually quicker than searching on afterdawn, google is more forgiving sometimes on searches. plus it didn't help that i was looking for booktyping and forgot that bitsetting was the term i was really after
