This drive anygood?

Hey all. Happy holidays and new year.

Anyway for christmas I recieved an internal Dvd +-RW/+-R and was wondering if these specs were any good. It's made by a company called digital research and I'm new to DVD writing and copying.

DVD+r 16x
DVD-r 16x
DVD+RW 8x
DVD-RW 4x
DVD=R DL 4x
CD-R 48x
CD-RW 24x

Read Speed:
CD-Rom 48x
DVD-Rom 16x

I'll probably use this to copy dvds, as you know back-ups. If you could answer my questions, I'd really appreciate. Thanks guys and again happy holidays and new year.

 

What brand and model is that burner?

 

It's brand is Digitial Research and the model is the DDVD16DL?

Is that a model number?

 

There's no telling who actually makes that drive!!! Browse the selection at Newegg.com... You can find Pioneer, NEC, LiteOn, and BenQ for around $40. At least that way you will know what you are getting and save some money to boot.

 

i agree i have spent well over 1000 bucks at newegg.com those guys rock.

 

Yea, I would have gone ot newegg, but I got it as a christmas present from a friend. I was just wondering whether i should keep it or not. Thanks for your help though. Maybe i'll just go to new egg
