You would need quite alot of money to fill all those ram slots.

But still, who would ever need that many slots?

TYAN is promoting that board on their US-centric site also:
    http://www.tyan.com/products/html/thunderk8qspro.html

XP (Home & Professional) would be totally wasted on that board (XP Home supports 1 physical CPU, Pro supports 2 physical CPU's - note to the technically unaware: hype(r)threading is NOT multiple CPU's).

    Win2k Pro is 2 CPU's only.

To support more than 2 CPU's, you would need to be running (for examples):

Windows 2000 Server (one of the many editions that support 4 or more CPU's)

Windows 2003 Server (same as for 2000 server)

    Linux (many versions/distros)

    BeOS Pro (paid for version)

    etc.
    etc.

You would also need to source a RARE PCI-X high performance graphics card (do NOT CONFUSE PCI-X with PCI Express: lots of people, including tech review sites, DO get confused.)

    REGISTERED DDR.

    BIG CASE and PSU(s) REQUIRED!!!

    etc.
    etc.

Other than that, yeah, it is a nice board, I could think of a couple of uses for it if I had to !LOL!

    Have Fun...
_X_X_X_X_X_[small]Life is just more of the same:[/small]

Not enough PCI slots for me. I would also want about 10 available for upgrades.
