Im deciding between the Qoob Pro and the Viper GC Extreme.

The Qoob seems to be the popular one, but you will need a BBA (broadband adapter) to connect to pc in order to make backups of games. The USB port on the Qoob Pro is only used to flash the BIOS.

However the Viper GC Extreme both flashing and ripping is done using the USB port, elimiating the need for the BBA.

Sounds like the Viper GC Extreme would be the better choice, however everyone seems to be going with Qoob Pro instead. Is there a reason for this?

Pros and Cons of each chip?

Your help and opinions are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Unless you plan on making back-ups, just get a Qoob Pro. It has a better BIOS that supports all it's hardware functions as well as video forcing.

If you plan on frequently making back-ups, then get a ViperGC Extreme. Just don't plan on using video forcing (playing PAL on NTSC TVs or NTSC on PAL TVs).

Also, the Qoob Pro is cheaper since it's been out longer, which is part of why it's doing so well.
