i HIGHLY suggest you dont go with crossfire or SLI because your only using a 720p resolution, so you dont need it. i would suggest getting the HD4870, GTX 260 or GTX 280 instead of the 2 HD4850's. adding an extra hd4850 wont give you a boost in gaming anywhere as near as the HD4870. and does the NZXT Zero come with a PSU? i would try to get one that doesnt have it to save money. unless you need a Full tower, i would suggest you get a mid-tower because its generally cheaper and would fit your needs well.
The X4 9950 can't max games like Crysis, either change it to a Phenom II 940 or use an Intel based system. I also agree, the PSU is crap, positively dangerous. The CPU cooler isn't very good either.
Rather than encounter reduced performance in the games that don't work with crossfire, why not buy this? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102810 It's all you will need at that resolution, and you don't have the niggles of crossfire to worry about. Also, we really do mean it about that power supply. If you use it, your PC is very likely to go bang and some of your components will be damaged/destroyed. Crap PSUs are also known to cause fires. If you don't change the CPU you won't lose out too much, but it is a very slow CPU by modern quad core standards.
ok i went with the 4870 ati radeon and changed my cpu to AMD Phenom™II X4 920 Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology . but for my psu that is the only one where i can keep my budget on, on the site.
No. This is the whole point, cheap PSUs are almost always bad, and dangerous. What options do you have? The Phenom II 920 is alright, but most Intel Core 2 Quad systems would be better.
ok i got this, it was 100$ more and I am positively thinking its not cheap and will do me well. its a Thermaltake W0131RU ToughPower 850 Watts
The toughpowers, while not quiet, are very good power supplies, infinitely better than the Xion unit you initially selected. 850W is way overkill for that PC though, a 650 would do fine.
I want this to be a very good computer and I'll will be going cross fire with 2 4870's when diablo 3 comes out. And i want it to last long so I guess spending more would help
I run a 4870X2 on a 520W Power supply, with an overclocked quad core and 3 hard disks. A 650 will do you fine
It's not the wattage that matters, it's the brand. An 800W Xion PSU will almost undoubtedly go bang before it even reaches 400W. A proper 650W unit will put out more like 700W.
Wait, i didn't even know about the 512MB 4870, I had settled on a 1GB version. I'm planning on using the 4870 on a 22" monitor... Which one would you recommend? I want the best performance, which one would offer me the best on a 22 incher?

well, if u already have a 1gb version, then why not keep it? lol. a 22" monitor i assume will have 1680x1050 resolution. i think the 512mb would be good enough, but the 1gb is HARDLY any better, maybe it will give you like a few fps increase, but you will see a larger improvement with higher resolution. @ 2xElite = http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 this PSU would be a lot more reliable and safer if you dont mind having a modular PSU, and would be plenty for your system.
A 512MB 4870 will be fine for a 720p TV, you won't need the 1GB one. Also, go with the Thermaltake PSU, not the NZXT one.
