Ok folks i need some advice, I have a external HP writer 200e its slow but have backed up several dvd's, I have a cd rom drive, and a cdrw drive as well, Iam wanting to do anyway with my external dvd writer, but don't have any more open bays and am not sure how to go to a internal drive dvd writer? This may sound stupid but what are my options?
Here's what I would do: Remove the DVD writer from the external enclosure. Set the jumper from secondary (slave) to primary (master). Remove your CD drive. Set your CD/RW drive (if you wish to keep it) up the second bay, set the jumper to secondary (slave). Insert your DVD burner in the top tray.
This of course assuming the DVD writer is removable from the external enclosure. It should just be a matter of a couple of screws and unplugging the power and data cables, then replacing them with the system ones inside your PC.
also put the dvd burner as secondary master if your hd is on the primary master. keep the cd burner & get rid of the cd rom drive.
