I've been flashing some programs to my TI-84+ over USB. Windows XP has recognized the device fine in the past, but now all of a sudden it doesn't. The instant I connect the TI-84 the bubble appears saying the device has malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognize it. For some reason the device only appears in the Device Manager within the USB hub it's connected to, not as a standalone device. It seems I can't manage or re-install the drivers for it, since the DM is actually looking at the hub. It does show up under the hub's power tab though, but I can't do anything with it there. I re-installed TI Connect, but still have the same issue. When I "install" the drivers using the inf, nothing happens. Interestingly the device seems to go between from simply being unrecognized and giving the entire hub the "failed to start" status until it's unplugged. Absolutely nothing has changed hardware or software wise since this last worked. I even tried 2 different cables, but no luck. So how would I go about re-installing the drivers if the device is only recognized through the USB hub?
first of all what software are you installing, the only software i've installed on mine is the jailbreak software for the ps3. it does the same thing that yours is doing if i don't uninstall the hook before attaching to the computer.
try a system restore to before problem started. uninstall the usb's in device manager hopefully not your mouse & restart windows so can find new hardware so can load it's drivers.
Wow, that was it! I didn't think about the fact that I still had payloads installed. Thanks, you just saved me a lot of trouble and wasted time.
