Right, My current PC was built back in 05 so I think it's time for me to upgrade to a new system. I am first planning to sell my current PC on ebay to shave off some money I am using for the new build, but I have no idea how much it will go for nowadays.

I am looking for an estimate(roughly) on how much my system will go for.

    Specs

    --Intel Pentium 4 Prescott w/HT 640, 3200 MHz (16 x 200)

--Zalman CNPS9700 LED 110mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

    --Asus P5LD2 Deluxe (3 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN, IEEE-1394)

    -- A-DATA(I believe) 1024 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM)

--ASUS ATI X1600PRO Series (512 MB)

--Linksys Wireless G PCI adapter WMP54G

    --LITE-ON DVD/CD rewritable drive (SHM-160P6S)

Left out the Hard drives, keyboard, mouse,Monitor as I will be keeping those :) If I am missing something please tell me( I have a bad memory).

    Regards,

    Papola

If you are taking bits out you are already putting a lot of potential buyers off, as most people that would buy an older system won't know what to do to get it working with new parts, plus it becomes a real pain.

Older systems sell for more money in local papers, as then you open up your sale to all those poeple that are looking for a first PC that don't have internet access, and the price you get will go up, as you get buyers that can't afford a new PC.

You may want to consider doing a complete stripe down and selling everything individually.

I bought a system off ebay for £80, took out the cpu which was selling for over that on its own, then sold all the parts off seperately and got my money back.

Just did a quick check, and people are selling a complete system with D925 3.0Ghz, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Vista, wireless, keyboard/mouse, speakers all for £195 with 3 yr warranty.

You therefore need to look at competition, and for second hand kit it's massive.
