Just wondering if anyone could have any idea why the estimated time to transcode an avi file to dvd is around 15 hrs. i have tried using several programs but they all say the same. what puzzles me is that until recently i had no problems and it took an average of 1 hr 30 to complete the whole process. i usually use nero 9. i have tried messing about with the quality settings and such, but im used to just clicking burn and it works.

any help would be much appreciated.

Run MalwareBytes to verify you have no unwanted guests.
Check the Task manager to see if there is high CPU usage when not running Nero.
Is the HDD fragmented - MyDefrag is a good freeware.
