I Don't like ANYDVD, Cause I Can't SEE what it Does, I Need somthing I can Watch, and Know If It's Working or Not. I really Like Ri4e. and use it the most. It handles almost every movie I try To Back-up. For The Rest I Use DVDFAB Plat (That's the One I suggest people Buy) I'm Noy Saying AnyDVD Isn't any good it's Just Not For Me. Many People Swear By It. And It Is Really A Matter Of Choice.

    Also DVDFAB upgraded today.

    @ ZoSoIV

No, I've Never Seen That Setting, Because It's Been Ages Since I Even Thought of Using AnyDVD (2006)

I Guess it Was Unfair of me to Say I Didn't Like It. What I should Have Said I Don't Use It.

But You Have to Admit That The Purple Progress Bar At The Bottom Of DvdFab Is Pretty.

Going to have to agree with Zo on this one.

Take advantage of the free trial periods and see which one suits you better.

I agree with z4, but for another reason. Try out the trials and see how the programs work for you. Then consider if they're worth the cash to buy them when you can do the same job for free with RipIt4Me (includes Shrink which does the transcoding) and occasionally DVDFab Decrypter.

    Will return with my thoughts.

    Thanks again :)

I think the original question as been lost somehow, but I'm reffering back to the Tinkerbell problem. I've managed to copy it to DVD and I've done both just the movie and also the entire DVD. It's not the first time I'm having the following problem, I can play it fine on my computer, but when it gets to play it on my Home studio with DVD player/recorder, it plays 3 chapters and then stop sudenly. Anybody got a clue on the problem with this? And it wont play at all on any other DVD player in the house.

I bought AnyDVD and I use the free version of DVDFAB. Between the two of them there hasn't been a DVD I've not be able to backup. I do, however, use AnyDVD 98% of the time without any problems.

Most of the time I use DVD Shrink latest version and I don't have a problem at all other times I'll use Clone DVD2 2.9.1.7 and also ANY DVD 6.4.3.2 with them, but recently with some odd movies like Tinkerbell, it will back it up all properly and it will even play on the computer all properly, but when played on my Home DVD player/recorder (LG 8 in 2) it will start and then stop after a few chapters. When burning them I use my LG DVD burner with HP DVD-R disk and in DVD Shrink I always say use maximum for the speed.

Please post more specifics, example type of media used, burn speed, Burning program, did you booktype to DVD-ROM? Any burn log would be appreciated and will help us narrow down the problem.
My preliminary guess is bad media burned too quickly.

    Edit,
Second time in two weeks that I have read to the end of the thread, replied, then several more posts show up between the time I read and posted, anyone else see this phenomenom?

HP media is crap use better media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim burning at 6x to 8x max. thats most likely your problem. using clonedvd + anydvd for the newer movies with heavy copy protection is the best bet

saumer as blivet said some specifics would be nice. ;)

I'm betting just slowing down your burn speed might help. It doesn't matter what kind of media you use if you burn it to fast you could have the issues you are having now. Try that and inform us some more on your results so we can assist your further. ;)

Like Greensman suggest, slowing down is great, slowing down to 1/2 speed is the best starting point. Burning on Maximum speed may result in almost non-playable disks. I recommend burning at 8X for 16X rated media. Believe it or not, the burn time between 8X and 16X is not that great, look at how much time is spent writing the lead in and the lead outs and you'll see what we mean by the previous statement,

I tried to slow the speed to 8x instead of 16x and tonight on two different movies it didn't work, it's still the same thing, after 3 chapters it sudenly stop playing but everything is there and it plays fine on the computer. It's weird that everything was working fine and then sudenly this problem started, it almost makes me want to format my HD and reinstall the entire system. Such a trouble though.

    Don't format quite yet. :)

I would do a clean disk, defrag, and try a different media. Anything other than the stuff you're using right now. You can pick up something at almost any B&M store if you live in the states. I think that OM (office max) has the 100pk on sale for $25 this week. ;)

    good luck to you....
