By this i mean not burn the dvd but test it out to make sure it would work, then afterwards actually burn...........tired of wasting $$$
lmac222, Looks like your firmware is out of date. Go to site below and you should be able to go to BBIA http://www.benq.us/ServiceAndSupport/Drivers/drivers.cfm?product=752 Are you ripping the DVD Movie using DVDDecrypter before shrink or are you using DVDDecrypter to burn the .iso image file. If you are ripping the disk then I would try DVDFAB Decrypter to rip the files to HD as DCVDDecrypter has not been updated and will not be updated anymore. This could be a movie DVDDecrypter can not read. Also clean the disk real well as smudges can do the same thing DVDFAB Decrypter: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvdfab_decrypter.cfm
i use decrypter to get it to the cpu then shrink then decrypter to write the iso should i use the program u were referring to instead? if so is there a step by step walkthrough(so the lady friend can do it when im not here)
Here is a guide that uses all freeware: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/backup with DVDFABDecrypter,Shrink,&Decrypter.pdf The reason I mentioned DVDFAB DECRYPTER is because DVDDecrypter has ceased operations and will not be updated so the newer encryptions can not be busted. DVDFAB DECRYPTER stepped up to the plate to take the place of DVDDecrypter( only for encryptions)
so with this program is it just like decrypter basically rippin to hard drive use shrink then burn with this?
I kept getting this error with the movie "Sahara". It occured when Decrypter attempted to write the ISO. I also tried DVDFab Decrypter with the same results when I tried again to burn with Decrypter. I was at a friends place using his PC and all he had to burn with was Decrypter. I took the movie home and used Nero to burn with, which worked.
i was thinking bout that man my plan was using the same method.............using decrypter to rip, shrink to shrink i guess and actually burn the .iso image with nero nero good for burning iso? cause 99 percent of my troubles come from decrypter tryin to burn the iso i used to use nero all the time for data cds/music/etc I have the latest version of nero so would nero guys recommend ripping with decrypter/shrink and actually burning with nero?
give it a go in Nero then - but just do a simlation burn then you don't waste a disc. any of us in the thread can decode the log it generates for ya
basically a simulation is waht i was asking for earlier correct? where it does a test mode...............meaning if it completes successfully it will complete correctly on the dvd right? i got one encoding now at 90 percent so ill test nero out thanks guys
re simulation burn - just as you're gonna hit burn, untick burn and tick 'simulation burn'. with nero always make sure a blank disc is in drive before you start so nero can detect disc correctly first. then it'll go thru the motions with a blank disc but won't write to it, then let's have LAST section of the log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar. You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"
i have nero smart start and i dont see that option? if this helps you i have nero oem 6.6.0.16 nero digital 3.0.1.18 incd 4.3.11.1 ? i just go to burn image to disk and go thru the set up but its not like the older version of nero i used to use that had that thing u were referring to as like a testing
lmac222, Go to the below area on your computer and you will see the log c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log . The simulation burn is under Nero Burning Rom> Burn> Simulation( about 1/2 they way down
im not sure if this is what u were needing i tried to burn the image with nero and it was wrong and i think this is the log for it AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 40894464 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 255MB (261616kB) Free physical memory: 78MB (80588kB) Memory in use : 69 Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 5.11.2005 Burn DVD Image 6:43:02 PM #1 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 6:43:02 PM #2 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 122 Writer BENQ DVD DD DW1625 running 6:43:02 PM #3 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3233 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 6:43:03 PM #4 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 270 Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2202030 (489:20.30, 4300MB) 6:43:03 PM #5 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 282 Write in overburning mode: NO (enabled: CD) 6:43:03 PM #6 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2483 Recorder: BENQ DVD DD DW1625, Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: MXL RG - 02 Disc Application Code: 64, Disc Physical Code: 193 6:43:03 PM #7 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 448 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 6:43:03 PM #8 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 838 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 (2 - CD-ROM Mode 1, ISO 9660) 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2202031 (2202031) = #2202031/489:20.31 not relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/not required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2202031 blocks [BENQ DVD DD DW1625] -------------------------------------------------------------- 6:43:03 PM #9 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1051 Prepare recorder [BENQ DVD DD DW1625] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; Session Closed, disc fixated Tracks 1 to 1: 1: TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048/0x00, FilePos 0 0 4509759488, ISRC "" DAO layout: =========== __Start_|____Track_|_Idx_|_CtrlAdr_|_RecDep__________ 0 | lead-in | 0 | 0x41 | 0x00 0 | 1 | 0 | 0x41 | 0x00 0 | 1 | 1 | 0x41 | 0x00 2202031 | lead-out | 1 | 0x41 | 0x00 6:43:03 PM #10 Phase 24 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Caching of files started 6:43:03 PM #11 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 4120 Cache writing successful. 6:43:03 PM #12 Phase 25 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Caching of files completed 6:43:03 PM #13 Phase 36 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Burn process started at 4x (5,540 KB/s) 6:43:03 PM #14 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 2654 Verifying disc position of item 0 (not relocatable, no disc pos, no patch infos, orig at #0): write at #0 6:43:03 PM #15 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 2379 Recording mode: Sequential Recording Mode 6:43:03 PM #16 Text 0 File Mmc.cpp, Line 21708 Set BUFE: Seamless Link -> ON 6:43:03 PM #17 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 2534 Start write address at LBA 0 DVD high compatibility mode: Yes 6:43:03 PM #18 Text 0 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 8862 ---- DVD Structure: Physical Format Information (00h) ---- Layer: 0, Address: 0 (0 h), AGID: 0; Length: 2050 Book Type: DVD-R (2), Part Version: 2.0x (5), Extended Part Version: 0.0 (0) Disc Size: 120 mm, Maximum Rate: <not specified> (F h) Number of Layers: 1, Track Path: Parallel Track Path (PTP), Layer Type: recordable Linear Density: 0,267 um/bit, Track Density: 0,74 um/track Starting Physical Sector Number of Data Area: 30000 h (DVD-ROM, DVD-R/-RW, DVD+R/+RW) End Physical Sector Number of Data Area: 0 h End Sector Number in Layer 0: 0 h (LBN: FFFD0000 h, 4193920 MB) Data in Burst Cutting Area (BCA) does not exist Start sector number of the current Border-Out: 0 h Start sector number of the next Border-In: 0 h Media Specific [16..63]: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 - 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ................ 6:45:44 PM #19 SCSI -1135 File Cdrdrv.cpp, Line 1434 SCSI Exec, HA 1, TA 0, LUN 0, buffer 0x09B30000 Status: 0x04 (0x01, SCSI_ERR) HA-Status 0x00 (0x00, OK) TA-Status 0x02 (0x01, SCSI_TASTATUS_CHKCOND) Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR) Sense Code: 0x0C Sense Qual: 0x00 CDB Data: 0x2A 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x3A 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x20 0x00 0x00 0x00 Sense Data: 0x71 0x00 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x12 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0C 0x00 6:45:44 PM #20 CDR -1135 File Writer.cpp, Line 311 Write error 6:45:44 PM #21 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 228 all writers idle, stopping conversion 6:45:44 PM #22 Text 0 File ThreadedTransfer.cpp, Line 222 conversion idle, stopping reader 6:45:44 PM #23 Text 0 File DVDR.cpp, Line 2774 EndDAO: Last written address was 14847 6:45:44 PM #24 Phase 38 File dlgbrnst.cpp, Line 1832 Burn process failed at 4x (5,540 KB/s) couldnt find the words simulation anywhere
try using CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD it does the job in 3 simple steps, tried everything also and now Im happy with this. hope all works well for you
The log shows a media error: (Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR) ) You may want to try something else if you are still trying to burn the lightscribe media. Is it Maxell? Nero failed a couple minutes into the burn process, which to me is an indication of a media problem as well. Try a DVD RW so if your burn fails you can erase it and re-use. Your log is missing the first few lines. These lines hold the device map, Nero version, firmware versions, DMA status and a few other helpful bits. The only thing we don't want is your Nero serial number. Your memory usage % is rather high but with only 256 MB to work with I guess it would be. You should shut down as many applications as possible. Task Manager > Processes > click "User Name" You can shut down almost everything that has your name as the User Name, leave system, local and network service alone. Leave explorer.exe running. These items are only shut off until you restart your computer or open an associated program. InCD is not great to have if you are burning DVDs... That's why Nero makes a tool to remove it so you can do a clean InCD reinstall. I recommend you simply remove it: http://nero.com/nero6/enu/InCD_CleanTool.html InCD can conflict with your DVD programs. FYI when I burned the DVD I was having the problem with, I used Shrink/Nero and burned video files, not the iso.
the lightscribe media i use and the only media i use is verbatim and yes it does drain my ram at only be 256
lmac222, The blank media code: Disc Manufacturer: MXL RG - 02 That code is a Maxell disk. If you are using Verbatim where did you get them.
ur right my bad that one i couldnt find a good label to use for my lightscribe so i used one of those ones but 99 percent of the time i use verbatims lightscribes
Did you dl that firmware update that Car.Mike gave you back at the beginning yours is way too old. I recently purchased this drive and it does not have a problem with Maxell disks, or any other media.
