Recorded last night's show with TiVo (by DirectTV). I have a Sony stand-alone DVD Recorder (VRD-VC20) and I wanted to transfer the show to DVD (archive purposes...I'm running out of room on my TiVo). It wouldn't let me do it. Called Sony and they said it was because the show was copyright protected. I'm like, "What the...?!?!?" Never experienced this before (obviously).

Anybody know a work-around...something? Thanks in advance.

All Digital Broadcasts are Now protected By a RF Flag which is a Form of DRM Copy Protection and there is no way arround it unless you use a Capture device or Recorder that doesn"t have the RF Detection built into it which all do accept for ones Made over say a Year ago, but the Transmitions could also be Protected By Analogue Macrovision so analogue Recording will be Impossible....

You might be able to Filter out the Analogue Copy Protection if you had a Video Stabilizer like the "Facet Video Clarifier" or the "DVD Red Pro" but I don"t know if they will Work with Direct TV as they are For Recording from DVD to DVD or VHS to DVD ect....

    Good luck
