I've been using TMPG Enc Plus 2.5 for quite a while and recently I install some new codecs to play some sub-title movies. I installed 'NIMO Codec Pack' and that screwed up my TMPG Enc Plus 2.5 program. Before, I was able to open a video file in 'NTSC Film' format and the Audio file would automatically open with the video file. But now, I only got the Video file to open, and when I try to open the Audio file which is the same file as the Video (.AVI file), I get this error message "File 'the file name' can not open, or unsupported." Can someone please help me fix this problem? Thanks!

Open the avi in virtualdub and do the following

    1. click video - direct stream copy
    2. click audio - full processing mode
    3. click audio - compression, select no compression pcm and click ok!
    4. click file - ave as avi!

Now try the avi u saved with TMPGEnc and i recommend dumping the nimo codec pack!

Thanks Dela, but that didn't work. When I click 'Save as AVI...' , I save the file as name, then I get this error message 'No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format' . Ever since I install the Nimo Codec Pack, my TMPGEnc Plus stop working. I usually use TMPGEnc to convert my AVI files to MPEG so I can burn then as VCDs. I already got rid of the Nimo Codec Pack, but I still get the same problem with TMPGEnc. I can't seem to open a AVI file for the Audio File as before. Can some help fix this problem? Did the Nimo Codec Pack screw up my computer? Help please. Thank you!

Download Gspot and check the file for what codecs you need!
