hello and thanks for the help.

i've been using tmpge to convert avi files to mpeg 2 files (system video+audio) and then using movie factory 2 to author them into dvds. everything was working fine for the first few dvds but now i have a problem.

some mpeg2 files are not playing audio after i converted them from avi. im not sure what setting to change since the audio did work for all the other files before this problem started. and yes, im positive thr audio was there in the first place when in avi format. maybe there is something different about these avi files than the others that im not aware of?

i tried letting movie factory 2 do the conversion, and it does work but the audio and video will be totally out of sync. totally unacceptable. tmpge was doing such a perfect job, i really need to get it going again with these troublesome files.

anyone have any idea what i should try within tmpge to get the audio and video to convert from avi to mpeg 2?

Use VirtualDub to convert the avi file to a wav file and use that as the audio source.

I used TMPGEnc to convert avi files to mpeg files and burned them to a DVD. They did not play in a standalone DVD player. Do I have to put them in a VIDEO_TS folder as I do when backing up DVD movies.
I am not familar with Movie Factory 2. Is this something I should use? Thanks, Ron.
