Hi I have DVD Authoring Works 4 on my laptop. Firstly it would not import avi files, saying cannot open the video, only the audio can be opened. After downloading klite codec pack and ffd show AVi's are now fine.

However problem persists with MPEG2 files. Get the same error. "Mpeg file- video cannot be opened, only the audio part can be opened. I'm pretty sure it is a codec issue but i seem to have so many codecs i cant understand why. The mpeg2 files open with windows media player, vlc player and media player classic so I am at a loss. Downloaded G spot which said i have all available codecs.

    Any ideas??

    Navigate to options/preferences/input plugin.

Make sure "mpeg file reader" is selected.

    Hello,

Sorry about bumping this thread but I am also having the same problem. I have made sure that the "mpeg file reader" box is checked but that doesn't solve the problem.

    Any other suggestions?

    Try enabling TMPGenc's directshow plugin.
If it doesn't work, drop the file into Mediainfo.
Select view/text and put the info in here.
