Hello, I'm having some trouble playing any DVD I create (from MPG format) and burn onto a DVD-R. When I try to play it in my DVD player, the color is in black and white, and the screen skips (as if the DVD player is VCR player and the tracking is off slightly). If try to play the DVD in my Playstation 2, I recieve the error message "TV system doesn't match." I know it's not a region problem because when I used the DVD Decrypter it said the DVD was in all formats (1, 2, 3... to 8). Also I burned one copy of the movie in stereo and one in mono to see if it would make a difference. The only effect it had was that when I played the mono version in my normal DVD player there was no sound compared to the stereo version which had sound that would cut in and out. Also, Both DVDs play fine in my computer. I'm not sure if the problem lays in TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 or if it is the fault of my PS2 and DVD player. Any help would be greatly appreaciated! Thank you, Andy
Sounds like you are trying to play the wrong format. PAL vs NTSC. You need to author the movie in the format that matches your playback equipment.
Thank you! I think that is the problem. I checked out the information about the MPG and it did say "PAL Format". Is there any program I can use to convert the MPG from PAL format to NTSC format?
Here are some guides. They list the needed programs as well. http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?howtoselect=4;41#4;41
Thanks a lot! I'm converting right now, so I'll tell you if it works in a little while. Thanks again!
