Hi everyone! Here's my problem...I extract my .vob files with SmartRipper. Then when I try and open them in TMPGEnc I get "The video GOP is too long" other files give me "Linear PCM audio is not compatible with the current track". My question is this...is there a authoring program that can take all these .vob files and author a DVD without making a "coaster" as I have already made enough. (I don't want to start messing with the files in other programs if possible). Thanks.
I have been using TMPGEnc DVD autor for a short while & have not come accross this yet, however, I was only using because it can create menu's. My favourite combo of ripping and authoring is DVD decrypter and shrink (both freeware). I believe smartripper is supposed to be used by many though, so go get shrink which will allow you to back up the whole disc content or re-author without the menu (& extras if you wish). Visit the shrink forum for guides but it is fairly simple. P.S. Shrink can also open DVD decrypter remotely to burn your project. Nice little feature which you can select, after the re-authoring process when you click "back-up".
You should Try Ripping the Vob files as a Single Big VOB file with Just one audio Track useing Smartripper.... Tmpgenc DVD Author doesn"t support Multiple audio tracks and if your used regular VOB files off of a DVD they will have many Audio Tracks and Subtitles which Tmpgenc DVD Author Doesn"t Support..... You can rip the Movie as a Single Big VOB file by simply going into "Settings" and under "File Splitting" set it to "Max File Size" and then set the Max File Size to "9000mb"..... And to Rip the Movie with just one audio Track go into "Stream Processing" and un-Select everything accept for the Top 2 Items in the Last which should be the Video Track and the Dolby 5.1 (6ch) English Audio Track... Now when you rip the DVD it will be just one Big VOB file and with only one audio track...... Cheers
Sorry guys I should have been more specific. I am taking various music videos off several DVDs and trying to put together a "best of" DVD. Sounds simple enough right? Wrong! Like I said in my first post, some files open in TMPGEnc just fine, other files give me various errors...Minion - I tried to fix the audio with the "stream processing" like you mentioned in SmartRipper with no luck Any other help you guys have would be very very very much appreciated. This is making me insane...I have tried #1 DVD Ripper & DVD Decrypter instead of SmartRipper, DVD Architect & ReelDVD instead of TMPGEnc all with no luck...I'd like to stick with SmartRipper & TMPGEnc if possible because they have worked for me in the past so I can't figure out why they are acting up now??? Thanks again.
