The problem: I am ripping select chapters from various DVDs with SmartRipper 2.41, then re-authoring with TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5, but some .VOB files show "the video GOP is too long" error when I try and open them. I searched this fourm and tried the "GOP Fixer" in MPEG2VCR with no luck. Any other help guys/girls?

I've tried TMPGEnc 2.5, DVD Lab Pro and DVD Decrypter 3.5 all with no luck. Does anyone know how to fix this "GOP too long" error/problem??? I'm going CRAZY trying to figure this one out!!!

Re-encode the video with a closed GOP of no more than 18.
The other option is to author it anyhow, ignoring the warning in DVDLab, and see if it plays. (It most likely will be fine).

Can I do this..."Re-encode the video with a closed GOP of no more than 18"...in TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5? I have been using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.5 with Smartripper 2.41 for a while now with no problems, but within the last 3-4 months I have been having problems with various clips. Thanks for the help!

No, Tmpgenc DVD Author is not an encoder.
Seriously, I would ignore the message and author it anyhow.
You might stand to make a 20ยข coaster ;)
