i have been attempting to convert a dvd movie to vcd using dvd2avi ver 1.77.4 and TMPGEnc ver 2.524.63.181. After creating a d2v and wav file in dvd2avi, I am unable to open them as a video and audio source in TMPGEnc . The error message displayed is 'cannot open or unsupported'.
I have also tried using version 1.76 of dvd2avi(command line) with no success. in the plugin list in TMPGEnc, dvd2avi.vfp is listed.

i need further guidance to resolve the problem. would appreciate help at the earliest.

Why take an mpeg-2 DVD, convert to an avi, then encode back to mpg?
Demux the DVD using something like ReJig (file mode), transcode audio in virtualdubmod, or Goldwave, to .wav
Load the .m2v and .wav into tmpgenc.
