hi, i have two different problems!

first off, i ran GSPOT and it says that i have all of the necessary codecs!!

    1) my movie, AVI, DIVX, comes out horrible when i encode it, even on the slowest but best resolution. it comes in all blocky and the sound is off

    2) my movie, avi, XVID, no sound compression, used virtual dub, the video works but there is no sound in the final product!!

    both of these are VCD
any help would be greatly appreciated!!

IT IS THE CODEC! Everyone relys on Gspot for telling them what codecs they need and when it does they come on and say they have all the necessary codecs. Well you obviously do not if the video is coming out blocky. Well, maybe it is not the codec but most of the time it is. It could be that the file is bad and when being encoded it's screwing up on the bad frames. Try AVIFix or DivFix. If that doesn't work post back. Oh and for your audio question, try encoding the audio and video files seperately and then merging them afterwards.

    Cheers.
