Tmpgenc says moviwe is too LARGE!!!!

    hi everyone hope i can get some help here, i have a xvid movie that is 688mb and lasts 1 hour 39 minutes, and when i try and get it on DVD using tmpgenc, even with the bitrate set to 2000(which would be rubbish) it says the files is 135% larger than a 4.7gb dvd and i cannot get it to fit no matter what i try, even setting it to cbr, itstead of vbr 2 pass. pls help as its doing my head in!!!

    john014,

    You should try some other program and see how ya go then. I could suggest some programs if you told me what you wanted to do with the Xvid.

    It sounds like your audio needs to be checked. To do so download a freeware program called [AVIcodec]. This small program analyzes the avi, then reports many of the files attributes. After doing this, check to see if the audio is [PCM], because it sounds like it possibly is. If it is then your audio is uncompressed, making the file very, very large! Then you'll have to investigate a method to getting the audio compressed! There's not much more I can tell you here because I haven't run into that problem using TMPGEnc Plus, yet!

    thanks mac 53 and mistycat, thats what the problem was tmpgenc was way overestimating the file size!!! by about 120 minutes!!! thanks for all your help, problem now solved.
