I've been encoding movies for a while now, ripping them from dvd then encoding them to MPEG-2 vids. All of a sudden something wierd has started happening. The videos that come out (Encoded with 1-pass CQ) have errors in them. The sound will just randomly stop and the video suddenly goes to about 4x speed for a few seconds then goes back to normal. It does this to every movie i do, and i've tried different settings on small parts of the movie. Has anyone had this problem? Any ideas on what the problem is? Also, it would be quite easy if i could use the TMPGEnc settings in CCE, but is their any way possible of using the project file in CCE? I've used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 and done this but it doesn't seem to work very well, it will never get the aspect ratio and sizes right.
Yes, you can use the Tmpgenc filters in CCE, Like the Noise Filters and Resize and aspect ratio and Video arrange method but you also have to take these things into account when setting up CCE.... What you will need is a Frameserver called "VFAPI Converter" after you have downloaded the Program go into it"s folder and run the "VifpSet.bat" File which will install the Vfapi codec on your system..... Next run Tmpgenc and Load in your Source File, (If it is a File you downloaded off of the Net it is a Good Idea to decompress the Audio in your AVI file before Loading it into Tmpgenc as To avoid audio Problems as Tmpgenc doesn"t like Compressed audio formats, You can download a Tool to decompress the audio in your AVI file Here: http://www.megaupload.com/tr/?d=FU50BMK3 ) Then set up Tmpgenc like you were useing it to Encode to Mpeg for you and when you are done go to "File" to "save Project" and then save the .tpr Project file to your Desktop.... Next Load the tpr file into the "VFAPI Converter" and make sure you enable the audio and click "Convert" and in a few Minutes you will have a Psudo AVI file saved to your Desktop that has all of the properties you set up in tmpgenc...Now run CCE and Load in the Psudo AVI file and set up CCE Like you were encodeing a file with the properties you set up in tmpgenc and encode it to Mpeg-2.... The encodeing will be a Little slower than if you were encodeing an AVI file in CCE but still a Lot faster than Tmpgenc..... If you want to be able to use Good Filters and be able to properly resize your Video and be able to use CCE to encode then maybe you should look into learning how to use a Frameserver (the Vfapi converter is a frameserver but a very basic one) Like the One in "Virtual-Dub" oer even better is "AVISynth" but it is Very complex were the Frameserver in Virtual-Dub is Pretty easy to use.... Are you getting this speeding up and slowing down Problem with the Video and audio Problems when watching on your DVD Player or on your PC??? Because if it is Just on your DVD Player then it sounds More like a Bad media or Burning at too high of a speed problem because I get those problems when i burn my DVD"s too Fast..... Good Luck
Thanks for the info. 1. The problem is when playing it on the computer. 2. Is there any way to use a .t3xp file and not a .tpr? I have both TMPGEnc versions but only Xpress seems to do the aspect ratios really well.
No I don"t think you can use a "Tmpgenc Xpress" project file because tmpgenc Xpress doesn"t Properly register with VFAPI were Tmpgenc pluss does..... You have absolute controll over the output Resolution and aspect ratio in Tmpgenc pluss by either useing the "Video arrange method" settings (Generally the "full Screen (Keep Aspect ratio 2)" setting will properly resize your File) or by useing the "Clip Frame" settings in the "Advanced settings" were you have absolute controll over the Screen Resolution and aspect ratio..... You can also use the Resize settings in "Virtual-Dub" and Frameserve from Virtual-Dub to CCE SP..... Cheers
