i have noticed that there are a lot of ppl on here who ask so many questions about what they are doing wrong and how to fix it. im not here to make a tutorial for you. but i can give you a link to a tutorial that will solve most, if not all of your problems. This is what you need to flash a 360 that will cost you money. dont be cheap, its worth it.

    a xbox 360
a desktop computer with available pci slot
a via 6421 chipset sata controller card. about $15
a sata cable no longer then 18 inches. about $3
a usb flash drive atleast 256MB about $10
some basic knowlegde of your computer

this is what you need to burn games.

a desktop computer with free spots to add dvd-rom drives.
a samsung sh d162a/b/c/d flashed with kreon v.1 firmware. i reccomend c as it seems to do the best job. found on ebay for $40 to $60
a dual layer dvd burner. i have a cheap sony dru. $30
verbatim dvd+r dl disks, 20 pack on newegg for $35

and thats it. i know it seems like a lot of money ,i mean, $170 dollars. but beleive me it is worth it. you spent more then that for your xbox 360. save allowence, get a job, and everyone has a birthday right. all the software you need you can find for free with xbins or a google search. xbins is great, and you can get it and everythig else you need to flash your 360 and burn your games using the link below. its a pdf textbook entitled flashing the 360 for noobs. no i didnt write it, but i use it all the time, have since it first came out. If you follow the instructions you will never have a problem. if you do it is probably answered in the book. If it isnt answered, then your doing something wrong. And just so everyone knows. i have no affiliation with the people that made it, i jsut honeslty think it is the best tutorial out there right now, and it jsut got updated for this year, with even easier ways to do it all.

just follow the information and you shouldnt have anymore problems.

    heres the link: http://www.360mods.net/Downloads/get=61.html

just click on the link that says textbook.2008.pdf. trust me its worth your time.

thats great except they dont get used, cuz ppl use them,. run into problems, then post their issues wherever they want. the tutorials you refer to are neither detailed enough or up to date enough. all im saying is, this one makes it easy to use and understand. and it has the latest information. remove the post if you want, but i really think it will help.

LOL im not a mod and when ppl have issues they ask them and we answer them there, or they start a thread and we lend them a hand:)

you dont need to spend money to mod your 360? at most a sata cable which costs like 5-9$ at radio shack..... and if you dont have a sata MB well then ya sure ya gotta cough op some dough......

am not going to pick and chew but some of this info isn't correct:)
dont take me for being a jerk im just pointing out that the stickies are there for a reason....their right:)

so let me get this right. your under the assumption that any mobo with sata can flash a 360 drive. Do you do this on a regular basis? and does everyone have disks laying around to burn games, or the drive to read them, or the drive to burn them? unlikely. you do need to be willing to put a little moeny into it if you want a hasle free way of doing it. im not saying that it has to be done this way, im saying its the best way to do. ive used that tutorial and all of this equipment to flash over 50 xbox's and never once had a problem. im jsut throwing out my opinion on what it takes to flash a 360 and burn games without running into a lot of problems. I'm sorry but those tutorials you refer to need to be updated. one of them still had info on using 360 ssmerger? no offense to the ppl who make them, but they should keep them up to date if they really are here to help people. And i did see that under FAQ ppl were directed to use textbook. which is good. This is merely my opinion.

lets not get into an argument ok:)

i think most games on the net are backup using xDVDMulleter so there is no need for combining the ss files, but still some aren't and the ss merger still works bro!

im not assuming that anyone with a sata MB can flash but yes...most people with a sata mb have been able to flash:)

when did i say that link was bad?

my only argument is that you do need not $170 to mod a 360, if so barely anyone would do it:)

btw: you dont need a drive with kreon firmware to backup

*sighs* ok, ill let it go. but note that my opinion is that if you put some money into it, it just helps to make it a hasle free process. And you most certainly get your money back. and yea, there probable are still people out there using ssmerger and stuff like that, it just seems more complicated then the "new ways". but i like this site, and im not here to argue, only to state an opinion, and i have no interest in getting banned. oh, and yes, there are other ways to burn games, other pc drives and even your xbox 360 drives, but from my experience the samsung sh-d162's are the most reliable way. anyway, ill be leaving this topic now.
