To Connect two pc together?

    what should i use? a crossover wire or a switch? what are the best wires you all recommend? thanks

    With modern networking a normal CAT5-E or CAT-6 cable should suffice, but if both of them want access to another network (for instance, a networked printer, the internet if not via a USB modem, or other computers) then a switch is definitely the way to go.

    well its more for lan games. internet i could just hook it up thru a router. its only two comps. they both have a Gigabit network.

    When we play LAN games we have the internet connected so we can use systems like Steam (which don't always work in offline mode).

    well i really dont play lan online. its more of a buddy type of deal. i have a third computer in the works. so thats where this is mainly going. its only for offline use

    If it's only for offline networking then a single cable will do fine.

    Yes, that should work fine. It's very cheap too.

    good. ill see what happens for there. should i get a cat6 cable? will it make a difference

    CAT-5E should be fine. CAT6 is better cable, but you are unlikely to see the difference unless the cable is very long (more than 10m)
