yea im freakishly new at modding so my xbox isn't modded, i downloaded a couple of profiles and a softmod installer 2.0 from action replay but i can't get it to work, is there like a simple wat to softmod?

ok i saved the SID-4.0-Nknave.rar file under my documents but somehting tells me im wrong there.... so where do i install the file so the action replay software will recognize it? (thx by the way id b completely screwed without help)
just extract the files, open up action replay and drag both UDATA folders into it(the left windows) while your memory card is hooked up and it will work......
i dragged and dropped then file into action replay, but it comes up with an error thst says i don't have permission. Do i have to take the disc out because it won't show up as drvie D if i do..idk that might not matter. if not then is there a better way?
i found out the only reson the action replay was coming up was because istill had the CD in there and it was trying to rite to the disc so i got an acess denied thing. AR doesnt even show up on my computer when i try to extract the files.....wtf?

my friend and i are looking at a tutorial to connect the xbox to my computer and it says to mirror the picture above and there is no picture... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/228294 is the tutorial we are looking at also as you are helping us, what is the program you are using? powerdesk? are u at the part when you save the file?
