to put video on the computer

i have a sony trv-250 digital 8 camcoarder. i have used it connected to my stand alone dvd burner and the picture looked good. i used my usb port put it on my computer. the movie is now poor quality. how can i make it look as good as it did going from camcoarder to stand alone recorder? thanks

 

is it usb 2.0 or 1.0.
if 1.0 that should be your problem, as the connection is slow. try finding a usb2 card or even better firewire (if the cam have firewire). the cards should be cheap.

 

USB 2.0 for sure as it is faster then Firewire

 

i used usb2 and loaded from my sony dtr-250 using nero 5. i burned it to dvd using the nero and the results sucked. choppy, grainy, etc. i had the sony in digital record mode.
