I am using my lap top but my desk pc isn't working. Well I wasn't able of getting my winxp cd run because the pc wouldn't read the drive but I restarted the pc and pressed F10 and selected the drive as first option to boot and the pc read the drive and now I get the message that the cd is damaged so I couldn't install winxp anyway.
    Thanks

try a cd/dvd disk cleaner on the drive. also wipe down the cd with warm soapy water & dry with a soft cloth. can you try another cd drive? do you have access to another computer to copy the xp folders from cd onto the hd without installing which you would do once hd is back into original computer?
