To those who have problems w/ DVD back ups playing correctly on PS2 (preferably fliptop and slide card users) - I have the answer !!

I am trying to use this to get the new sonic game to work, but it won't. I have the modchip and the flip top on my ps2 and if a game doesn't work for me, I use the gameshark and for the most of the time, it works such as mafia and soulcalibur with the gs. I also have a real dumb question, what does toc mean?

 

TOC = Table of Contents <---a real ps2 dvd disc.

The largest game for PS2 I know of is Champions of Norrath. It is a DVD9. Will that work for most games or would using a DVD9 cause an incompatibility with non dvd9 games?

 

i to used champions of norath. BUt i still dont get this new disk by oslin. When i put in table oc champion of norath.thendid the swap with a back up hit square and it went back and read my mem card then went to a red screen and said to insert a real ps2 game. did the same steps but i hit square and then it just went to just a red screen.
What does this program do exactly can anyone tell me. if all it does is make it so certain games work i already got dvd loader.
whatt do i need this disk for?

After reading through the 18 or something pages on ps2ownz on this program it seems to me the whole idea of this is that it is pretty much CD loader on a DVD. This DVD loader though, does not require you to go through the effort of picking which version of cdloader you want to use. It also does NOT require a TOC refresh thereby saving you one whole swap.

According to the author of the program the method to start your back ups is:

SMDVD 2.0 -> swap to Olsfan disc hit X -> swap to
backup disc hit square.

 

True, but in my case when I use a ps2 game dvd-rom as a toc disc at the sm3 dvd loa program menu. thats my chances of the backup playing at %100.

btw I have a version 4 fliptop lid ps2 with the original sm cds. and yes dvd9 disc's can be used as a toc disc.

 

This might be dumb but how big should a ps2 dvd be in order to play perfect backups. would 4.0 gigs dvd be big enough to play a 4.38 backup or smaller at 100%?

 

By ps2 dvd i mean game, sorry if i confused any1.

 

They don't make DVD's that are only 4 gig. You might not now it but ther bigger(4.7 gig)

I should have made it clearer. The size pertains 2 the toc of the ps2 disc.

 

can i burn this to a cd-r and make it boot my back up dvd games without the original swap magic?

No! its meant for a dvd-r

 

I don't think you can copy SMD because they have an error file that cd burners fix and then it don't work.

YOU STILL NEED A DVD BURNER TO BACK UP YOUR GAMES. There are few games you will find that are CD games.

hi guys am new to this have got slide tool with magic discs have downloaded this new 3.0 dvd but dont know how to make it work i dont understand ur instructions.
first load normal dvd2.0 in then when screen comes out slide tool and use the new 3.0 1 then what do i press anything or let it load or i dont know

 

load SM 2,0 Dvd, Swap with 3.0 dvd, press eject and change sm 3,0 dvd with a real playstation 2 dvd rom game "thats the toc disc" and close, once refreshed just swap the toc ps2 game with your backup and press square.
