This link contains a list of the TOC of most PS2 games.

    http://www.mod-chipping.co.uk/GSWIQ...ERNV;AIRUQPN'VE3po[oy'0itmpf/ps2dvdrlist.html

While I do not know for sure if this is accurate or not, it would sure explain your problems. According to the list SM:HCTP has a MUCH higher TOC than Xenosaga, and the same goes for those trying to boot Chaos Legion using Champions of Norrath.

All I can say is.....IT WORKS! I booted Lord of the Rings-Return of the king using SM:HCTP and it works more than 100% better, and while it is not perfect it was entirely unplayable before. Now, for the most part, most audio and FMV sequences work! every once in a while it has to load, or it skips, but thats probably my fault. Thanks For the link Sinasta!

My slide card has given me nothing but trouble. I carefully followed the procedure described in the instruction manual, and the outcome was different from what was described. First of all, I nearly broke the plastic slide card when I made an attempt to manually open the PS2 disk tray. The instructions said the tray would slide out without any problem; however, I tugged and tugged, and nearly broke the flimsy plastic hook on the slide card. Then I took a pair of plyers, and gently--yet firmly--tried pulling the PS2 disk tray out. The disk tray still would not open! At this point, I realized that the disk tray was not going to budge, and I stopped pulling before any further damage was done to my PS2 system. My Playstation 2 is not broken, but the front of the disk tray is slightly damaged.

I also have a problem with the "Swap Magic 2.0 DVD" boot disk. When I insert the disk, the intended message saying "change disk" is displayed. Now it is time to swap the boot disk with a back-up of the original copy. Since I cannot get the slide card to open the disk tray as it describes, I have to push the eject button to open the tray. Next, I put in the back-up of my original game copy, and push eject again to close the tray. Now I push the "X" button, and nothing happens; the screen just freezes.

The "Swap Magic" and slide card are both supposed to be compatible with my model and verson of PS2, yet it still will not work. Has anybody else experienced a similar problem with their "Swap Magic"? And what did you do to fix the problem? How can I get this to work? My frustration is starting to really stress me out. Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all very much.

get a fliptop and that should solve all your problems, i dont know why some people still go with the slide card when all it really does is mess your ps2 up and it can be a pain in the neck using it, while in the other hand the fliptop cover is full proof. you cant go wrong with it.

mstan777,it sounds like you are using the slide card wrong.I have a V6 PS2 and it works fine.Once you insert the card in the left side and slide it to the right the tray will come out a little. Then you can take the card out you don't have to use the little hook to pull the tray out,it opens far enough that you should be able to pull it open with you fingers.Make sure you have the little box looking thing on the card towards the bottom when you put the card in.Hope this helps.

    try one ore two things,

    1. New media "Verbatim, Ritek, or Imation dvd-r's"
    2. Clean your lens or get a can of compressed air and spray around the tray and laser area.

Thank you Jdilla and Hatchet for your reply. So what the both of you are saying is that the slide card's hook is supposed to grab on to the white pin? Or, exactly what should it hook on to. Thank you both for your time.

yea, your are suppose to slide the white stick to your left to open it and right to close it i think. does anyone know how i can get my manhunt back up to work properly, ive tried numerous media. from tdk, memorex, fujifilm, maxell. philips and nothing works. i think its my burner speed that writes the game too fast or something the slowest my burner can go is 2.4x, its a dvd+r/rw burner. tdk420n.

Hey Everyone , i have a few questions about this , i read your whole forum here and as you's say it only works on some versions , im not really sure what version i have , my model is SCPH 39001/n , What model do i have , i recently bought it , it was the combo that came with the Network adapter... also, i have another question. Okay Im downloading Shinobi And Its File Size Is 796.12MB and its a .Bin File , im hearing that this game is a DVD Game , and from the size of the file it seems this game could fit on a CDR , so if i were to put a DVD Game On a CDR if it fitted , would it still work , or do DVD Games have to be on DVD's , im not really sure about all this cause my Swap Magic cd's havent came in the mail yet , and i dont wanna end up wasteing a bunch of discs...so im trying to find out ahead of time.

First off all, piracy is not to be disscussed on this forum.

Second of all its a rip and it was meant to fit on a cd besides dvd.

Finally i belive its either a version 4 model or 5 model. one of the two.

Could or is there a TOC limit within olsfan sm3 that could cause a problem in some people playing backups using a game like xenogears or bigger? btw sinasta, did u finish your testing? I figure u have to refresh the TOC and it's based on dvd5 and not dvd9. It might be stupid, but it's just an idea I came up with.

Any info on the TOC limit question? I went out and purchased Xenosaga today, for use as a backup, and Return of the king wont boot up. it gets to the loading screen, then goes to the designer producer page and the screen stays black after that, and the disc spins very fast.

Jdilla don't get mad cause things don't work just for you, there are others out there that it works fine for.

i tried it too, it works on some, but definitely not all, like Onimusha Blade warriors or SWAT. I repeat, this works on some, probably the same as the 5V No Pn
but it does not solve ALL the problems. It also cannot act as a Swap CD. only DVD
