    Hello,

I've been trying to create DVD's from several .avi files on my Mac. The files are presented in widescreen format as they were on TV in the first place. When I saw that the new Toast included encoding in such a new way, I had to pick it up. So far, it's been a pretty great experience. I mean, besides the fact that it's really slow. I did five videos, about 3.5 hours worth, and it took approximately 9 hours to encode. And it's not like my computer is ancient. I have a 1.8 GHz G5.

Toast sets up the menus wonderfully and the resulting DVD looks great on my computer. Widescreen format and all. I put it in my conventional DVD player and it doesn't look right. It doesn't present the video in widescreen on my TV, cutting off about 20% from each side of the video. Frustrating because it looks right on my computer.

It should be noted that I had the same issue when I was encoding with ffmpegX. I have the same problem with different DVD players and different TVs. Even widescreen TVs don't show the video correctly. Any other Mac users who have seen this problem? I really, really, really thought Toast 7 was going to do it for me. So close...
