i was compressing a music dvd of mine and when it was all done and ready to burn...the final dvd size was a few mb's too big to fit on a DVD5. So i had to overburn a dvd to get it to fit. How come this happens? It's the first time it happens to me, i've done probably about 20 of my dvds without any problems.

Mostly because of the audio on it, audio is not compressed as is video. You can always try running the file through again to get it down to size, i.e. do the file twice if it is too big the first time :)
