I have a standalone that supports all I am trying to play on it and a pioneer burner and although I get a fair degree of success, I still get coasters and cannot get a backup of certain dvd's. The ones that PARTIALLY play, stop at a certain scene but it's random and will happily play the same scene the next time,is this pointing towards player error or am I still searching for media utopia. Media I would say, if you are following the guides and doing it correctly. Bad media usually cuts up and freezes towards the end of the film especially if the film fills the disc.
I'm using datasafe @ 1x and player is a mustek v562 which should b ok, but the other day I bought a pacific 1002 and it plays the failed discs fine, personally I agree with you but it's finding the damn media. I am gonna try a write with pioneer branded media later on one of the films that failed so I'm gettin there,thanks for the info anyway. Frosty
