Hello, I have burnt 2 movies now, usinge convertxtodvd software.. But when I play the movie on my standalone dvdplayer and my samsung tv, the movie is about 3 cm too wide on eache side, even on 16:9!! I have burnt movies the same way before, and no problem there. My setup for tv on convertxtodvd is: Pal and widescreen. Maybe I should change Pal to NTSC? But I live in Europe. My tv is Samsung LCD 32" What to do to correct the problem, at make the movie completely fit the screen on 16:9?? I think the problem is the converting part on convertxtodvd.. Maybe the setups. Thanks
are you converting 4:3 or 16:9. To fit the entire screen I always convert 4:3 on my 27" Lcd. If it still doesn't fit I use the cropping tools in convertxdvd to remove the black bars. It always works for me. Also in the video processing tab. there is a setting "stretch video resize to fit tv screen". You might try that setting.
ConvertXtoDVD settings are a bit confusing. Check out their forums and you'll agree. My method after hours of studying the manual, help files, CXD forums, and hours of trial and error: Settings > DVD Specifications Tab > Format: PAL for you. > DVD Resolution: Automatic Based on input. > Aspect Ratio > 16:9 Widescreen. Now go to Video Processing Tab > Video Resize > Letterbox. I'm not exactly sure about your "too wide" issue, but using the above settings your video will be displayed on your TV (with black bars if necessary) in it's source appearance. My NEW method? Abandon ConvertXtoDVD. Use TMPGEnc DVD Author 3. Better quality output (a bit slower) and tons easier to use.
CXD3 if left on Automatic for video resize will usually resize 2.35 WS movies to about 1.85 (the top/bottom black bars will get thinner). This means that some of the left/right parts of the video will be cropped/lost to maintain a proper aspect ratio.
