Anyone know if the Top Loading System is legit? Im about to get one to play Super Mario Bros, and I don't know if it is legit. It looks nice, but I don't wanna get scammed. It can be found here:
    http://search.stores.ebay.com/Vista...enesisQ2cQ20nesQ29Q20systemQQsbrsrtZdQQsofpZ2
Also, I will most likely be buying some other games, and since stores don't carry NES games, were would be the best website to pick up retro games/accessories?

    Thanks!

i'm not sure what you mean by legit, however if you're meaning that in the sense of asking if they are legitimate nintendo products than the simple answer is no. each of those sets are clones of the originals and act much like the originals in playing games. the only major difference is that these use the emulation feature of those plug and play sets where the set is basically a larger atari type joypad in which the roms are stored on a chip inside and a less intricate chip setup is used to run the roms.

the clones are good for most games, but for some others they dont work very well since the emulation setup they use revolves around older titles before the enhanced chip versions of games arrived for NES and SNES.....games like Castelvania 3 (NES), and F-Zero (SNES) for example contained such chips. so if all you want to do is play Super Mario Bros then it would be a good purchase, however as i said when it comes to the later games for both NES and SNES some just wont work due to the enhanced chips that were used in some of the later cartridge games and these units being basically insufficient to play them.

you'd be better off actually trying to find the real deals if you're wanting to play games that use enhanced chips in their cartridges. it's practically the only way. that or you can get emulators for NES and SNES (among other systems), then find the roms you want (i cant tell you where to get them so dont ask), and then figure out how make them work on your gamecube. and it's frankly easy. just mention sdload on here and ask how to get everything going and you should be set from there.

also if you're absolutely dead set on having legitimate nintendo products for the NES then try the following sites:

    www.play-asia.com
    www.toysnjoys.com
    www.ncsx.com

those are a few, but very popular sites people often use. i believe each has a retro section that covers the NES among other systems so finding a top loading NES shouldnt be too hard if they have them. not to mention the accessories as well.
