is there any way to test the quality of a file once it's downloaded? I went to back up a ps2 game from a torrent site. I extrated the files and made the iso. but when I used A120% the game started up but froze. I'm using ty dvd-r's which have worked on about 20 ofther backups already. Just trying to see if I can check the iso to make sure it's valid and not have a bunch of coasters around my apartment.
Mercenaries , I have a modded slim ps2 with matrix infinity. this has only happened to me like twice. The other game was Ratchet-Deadlocked. But both can from different torrent sites. I have had good backup's with other games, just didn't know if there was a way to check my file before i burn it to the dvd-r
i aint heard of anyways to check if the file is ok, altho its rare that games from torrent sites have problems, i know that mercanaries needs a patch to work with swap magic but i would of thought u wud be ok usin a modchip
Thx..I may have just gotten a bad file. i'm not complaining cause my rate of sucess has been better than failures. I was just checking to see if I could aviod it. Thanks for the info
also if u stick to private torrent sites then u shud never have a problem, cos sumtimes on the public sites ppl post sum crap
The difference is public sites are sites that do not require you to sign up as a member and have no real rules. You just take what you want and that is that. A private site on the other hand you must sign up as a memeber and follow certain rules. Like you have to seed as much as you download or you will be banned. They also have a limited number of members so some can be hard to get into. If the member sign up is full you have to get an invite email from a current memeber to be able to join. The files almost always have seeds too. Plus the speeds on the private sites are usually a bit faster even with a limited number of seeders.
wow...didn't know that. i saw a thread that gave links to sites, i've been using that. but i guess it pays to register? any ones in particular that are better then most?
swapmagic.com was intended for fixes for SM 2.0, not 3.6. i have 3.6, and none on the fixes apply. Most of the games listed on the list that need "fixes" boot unpatched or without the use of an extra loader, i have yet to run into 1 on that list thats need Cdloader v7 or cogswaper when using 3.6.
