I cannot seem to get a DVD-R to play in my laptop with a Toshiba drive. I know it will not accept DVD+Rs but it wont play the DVD-Rs that I create. Anyone have that issue before? Thanks in advance for any help possible. John
Firstly, what does this mean? firstly do not plz double post I get no error message. The drive just seems to keep trying and trying as the light on the DVD drive seems to just stay on. Looking at status it says there is no media or an unknown media in the drive. John
It means DO NOT MULTIPOST!!! Read the forum rules. Post your question only once. RE: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/211994

The unit plays a DVD from Blockbuster, but will not play a DVD-R that I copy from my desktop computer. Whether it be home movies or a copied movie. The book says it will play a DVD-R and that is what I use.
I've had the same problem... dvd+r's are not playable with this sd-r2102 dvd drive [toshiba satellite laptop]. I have all kinds of burned dvds and i've been able to play them in every other dvd player except this one. Can someone tell me if there's an updated driver that allows for this to be possible? I've searched and searched, but i've been unable to find one. Not even toshiba's support website has a driver update for this dvd drive. Anything to help out is appreciated. MrCubb
I only know the media is a DVD-R as I can check it with DVD Info. A commercial one will play, but one that I copy or make on a DVD-R does not. I wonder if it might be the region???
