ok I know that this seems stupid, but I just got a toshiba gigabeat from my friend, the new kind. Is there any way that I can use it on os x. I mean its just a harddisk right? Can I use it in drag and drop mode?
are you planing on using it external or internal here is the steps on how to do this i have done this on g3 towers mac os x only recognizes 200 gig hard drive partitions right now so you would have to multible partiton the hard drive seting each partition as 200 gigs untill you reach a gigabit now this means tons of drive icons on the mac os x desktop and creates quiet a mess this is why i recommend going external fire wire drive cage when using this option of hard drive all you have to do is format and use but you cannot install the os on the hard drive because the os itself only detects 200 gigs of hard drive space to boot from but externally you can go as big as you want as long as you are not booting from the drive
theres no simple way to just keep the hard drive in one partition? I find it really hard to believe that you have to create a bunch of 200mb partitions to get it to work with os x.
