    Hello all,

First i would like to say that i have been searching the forums for more than 9 hours looking for my answers but i did not find solution so maybe you friendly people can help me out.

    Specs: Toshiba Laptop Satellite P25-S507
    -Built in DVD-Rw (SD-R6112)
    -Media : Ritek G04
    SW: AnyDVD w/ CloneDVD2
: DVD Shrink w/ Nero 6 (or DVD Decrypter)
    : Intervideo WinDVD
    : ASPI 4.60 (1021)

I am able to burn successfully using any of the combos above, with no errors whatsoever. However, when i take the burned copy and insert it in my laptop, it does not recognize the copy. [bold]My drive shows 0 bytes used and 0 available.[/bold]

I am stumped, my standalone player is also a toshiba and does not recognize the disk either. ( i will try the copy in another computer tomorrow to see if the copy works).

I am becoming more convinced that the problem is not the software's fault or my setting's fault (as i had originally surmised), but rather Toshiba's drive inability to read DVD-R's.

I have read Scuba Pete's instructions and followed them to the letter. It seems to work and i am able to burn seemingly wothout errors but the disk just would not get recognized. (i have burned about 8 coasters using different software combo with the same frustrating results).

Does anyone have the same experience? Are there ways around this? Thanks in advance.

I have a P10-804 laptop with SD-R6112 drive. I can't burn with certain media. The drive seems very touchy. When i try to burn, using either nero6 or clonedvd, the programs stall. This usually happens when it is "checking disc". It just stops doing anything.

Have had success writing to cheap brand dvd-rw Mr.DVD but no success writing to Mirror platinum dvd+r.

I don't understand the problem, and there's not much info out there. I'm looking for a media compatibility guide.

    Andy,

The Toshiba SD-R6112 is a [bold]DVD-R[/bold] (read minus) NOT a DVD+R. You need to use DVD-R Discs. Here's a media guide, though not extensive: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters...&buffer=Any&list=0&orderby=Name&Search=Search

I have tried my burned discs on a NON-TOSHIBA drives and they work flawlessly. All along, i thought they were coasters but apparently they work great. My toshiba drive just does not read them.

Help anyone??? I need to find some sort of firmware or driver that would enable my drive to read these disks. Thanks!
