I have read these message boards for a while now with a view to getting one of these boxes and have seen that from time to time they have to be reconfigured. That is not a problem as long as the info to do it becomes readily available.

The question i need answering please is WHICH box is the best to get? By best i mean most reliable and fixes usually available quite quickly. Ideally a link to where i could get one would be great too.

Knowing what you know now, which one would you buy?

Thanks in advance for any kind responses I may get.

Ok, well any of the boxes really, starview, eurovox, dreambox etc.

The only problem is they are supposed to be implementing a changeover to nagra3, nobody is sure when, and nobody is sure what boxes will work after that.

Some people think the linux based boxes e.g. itgate or dreambox are more likely to work, whereas other people would say go for an older cheaper box for now, and then after nagra3 is rolled out buy one that definitely works.

So, it's totally your own choice. Hope that helps a bit! Sorry!

    Thanks for that

I rather suspected that it would not be a straight forward choice.

I rekon the older type for now then, would that be a starview?
