I like the thought of adding trailers to the start of dvd's. I like the trailers on apple.com/trailers, however they are in .mov format.

Would it be possible to add these to the beginning of a dvd? How would that be done? what programs would be needed?

I really have no idea how to do this, but am very interested in how it could be done.

    Thanks in advance

Why on earth would you want to use those trailers?

You can rip the trailers from your DVDs, they would be MUCH higher quality, already in the correct format, much quicker etc...

If you MUST use the .MOV files, you will need the following:

1 - Quicktime 6 PRO (full version, not the free download) or later - the free version does not allow you to save the .MOV

2 - RadTools (bink & smacker) to transfer from .MOV to .AVI at the best quality (uncompressed): Quicktime also allows this (but there is a quality difference)

3 - LOTS of hard drive space for the resulting .AVI as it takes approx 1GB per minute of video

4 - An encoder to take the .AVI into MPEG2 (CCE, Mainconcept, TMPGEnc etc)

5 - LOTS of time (I mean LOTS!!!!)

6 - A DVD Authoring package (or considerable skill with IFOEdit).

Honestly, you would be better off ripping the trailers from your DVDs...

    Hope this helps....
