Is there a way I can transfer video clips from my camera to the computer then burn them to a dvd disk?
yes ....... does your camera connect to the computer by USB? or do you have a video memory card, tape, or what means does your camera record on?
hook up the camera to the computer.......if you have XP you have Windows Movie Maker....... found here: Start/Programs/Windows Movie Maker open the programs and then hit FILE/CAPTURE VIDEO...... the program should recognize your camera....... very simple...... hit play on the camera and hit RECORD in the program....... now you will have the video in your computer...... then you can use a conversion program to convert it to DVD! I use ConvertXToDVD. You can also use NeroVission and other programs like AVSVideoConverter! there are plenty of other programs, too. The programs will convert and some will even burn to DVD! hope this helps. good luck.
Windows Movie Maker comes with XP!!! C:/Program Files/Movie Maker/moviemk.exe it automatically comes with Windows since Windows 95!!!!
Actually note true certain versions of xp don't come with windows movie maker for instant the tablet pc edition doesn't come with it and the windows media center 2000 edition didn't come with it at all as well.
The standard XP for the desktop/laptop incl SP1 & SP2 should have Windows Movie maker (WMM). I use WMM quite a lot for creating my own DVDs. WMM is a good "starter" movie making package, though I think it could handle sound a lot better.
